Chelsea Moore scored the first four points of a 12-2 fourth-quarter run as the Olentangy girls basketball team pulled away to post a 51-40 non-league win over host Bradley Wednesday night in Hilliard.

“I guess, right spot, right time,” Moore said about her baskets in the fourth quarter. “It got me really pumped. I brought up the intensity and everybody else saw that we were (pushing the lead) and they followed.”

Moore’s baskets broke a 31-31 tie at the end of the third quarter and after Teneea Heston had scored to bring Bradley within two again, Molly Delaney hit a three-pointer to push the Olentangy lead to five.

“I just played really hard,” Moore said. “It was good for morale — we’ve been doing really well. We just beat Liberty (and wanted) to keep it up — keep the pace up.”

Kelly Meade found Olivia Margolies underneath for a basket on the next possession before finishing off the run with a free throw and a basket of her own to push it to 43-33.

Meade scored nine of her game-high 18 points in the final frame, including going 5-for-6 at the foul line to put it away. She finished with five rebounds, two assists and two steals.

“(Meade) is going to score,” Olentangy coach John Feasel said. “The other thing she did pretty well tonight is she got a couple of rebounds and had a couple of assists — that’s the thing that we needed her to do. She should have a good night, she’s pretty good.”

Olentangy used a 13-1 second quarter to take control in the first half. Meade had five points and Moore had four to lead the team.

Moore finished with nine points, five rebounds and a pair of steals and Olivia Margolies had four points and five boards for Olentangy (13-2).

“Moore played pretty well tonight,” Feasel said. “She’s rebounding. Olivia came off the bench and gave us good minutes again. I’m playing her a little bit more.”

Delaney went 10-for-10 at the foul line for Olentangy and finished with 15 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals.

But the Jaguars used a 12-3 run in the third quarter capped by a pair of free throws by Grace Foder to take the lead — their first since a 9-8 advantage after one quarter. Foder finished with nine points, two rebounds and two assists while Carly Allocco finished with eight rebounds, three assists and three steals for Bradley (11-4).

“That’s a good team,” Feasel said about the Jaguars. “They’re 9-0 in their league, 11-4 (overall) now and one of the top eight teams in the Central District. On their home floor, I think that’s a good win.

“Third quarter, they came out and they made their run at us,” Feasel said. “For our credit, we made the run back at them in the fourth quarter.”

Olentangy travels to district-rival Olentangy Orange Friday night at 7:30 p.m. looking to extend its OCC-Capital winning streak to 24 games.
