The Olentangy baseball team played well in a between-tourney tuneup of sorts, knocking off visiting Canal Winchester in non-league action Friday in Lewis Center.

The Braves scored the game’s first run in the second before adding two in the fifth and two more in the sixth.

Caden Kaiser finished 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBI. Berto Carselle also had two hits while Jake McIntyre and Sam Nourse knocked in runs.

Carselle was the starting and winning pitcher, allowing five hits while striking out four and walking one in five scoreless innings of work.

Next up, Olentangy returns to tournament play. The third-seeded Braves will take on ninth-seeded Mount Vernon in a Division I district semifinal Tuesday at Ohio Wesleyan University. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m.

Buckeye Valley 7, Marion Harding 6

The Barons sent their seniors out in style, winning their final home game of the season Friday in Delaware.

After Harding took a 2-1 lead with a run in the top of the second, Buckeye Valley plated four runs in the bottom half of the inning to take control.

The Presidents scored two runs in the fourth to cut the deficit to one, but that was as close as they would get.

Ben Spaulding, Jacob Moeslein and Nathan Edington each had three hits in the win.

Dawson Worl pitched the first 3.1 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on two hits while striking out three and walking three. Dominick Bertke tossed the next 2.2, allowing an unearned run on four hits, and Spaulding closed things out.
