The Buckeye Valley boys cross country team cruised to its eighth straight league title, finishing with six of the top seven times during the MOAC Championship Saturday at Amman’s Reservoir in Galion.

Senior Zach Kreft led the way, adding to his perfect record by winning the individual title for the fourth straight fall. He crossed the finish line in 16:08.7 — a mark nearly 30 seconds better than the 16:35.5 Galion sophomore Braxton Tate secured to earn runner-up honors.

Spots three through seven, meanwhile, went to Barons. Seniors Nathan Holst finished third (16:53.7), Gavin Shearer closed fourth (16:57.1), Bill Daily finished fifth (17:10.9), Jacob Zinn crossed the line sixth (17:25.2) and Nathan Heiser finished seventh (17:39.7) to earn first team All-MOAC honors.

Buckeye Valley won with 19 points, the lowest score it has ever posted in the event. North Union finished second with 73 while newcomer Ontario, competing in the league for the first time this season, smoothed out the top three with 87.
