First Thursday Recital Series salutes the season

The First Thursday Noontime Recital Series at Asbury United Methodist Church will feature Asbury staff musicians Jan Swanson, Robert Nims, and Sally Casto performing Christmas music for keyboard duets on Thursday, Dec. 1, from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m.

Arrangements for four hands piano, for piano and organ, harpsichord and organ, and vocal duet will present a variety of traditional carols from different traditions. Tables will be set and beverages provided for those who wish to enjoy lunch during the recital. There is no admission charge.

Asbury United Methodist Church is handicapped-accessible from its rear parking lot entrance. The church is located at 55 W. Lincoln Ave. For information, call the church office at 740-363-3611.

Hidden Valley group meets today

The Hidden Valley Golf Course Working Group will have its first meeting at the golf course 7 p.m. Tuesday. Discussion items include the frequency of the meetings along with dates and times.

‘Home for the Holidays’ planned

The Delaware Community Chorus, under the direction of Mr. Daniel D. Hursey, will present its 2016 Christmas concert, “Home for the Holidays,” on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 3 and 5 p.m. in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, located at 45 W. Winter St. in Delaware.

This concert will feature a stirring repertoire of carols and seasonal favorites.

Tickets are $10, and may be reserved online at www.delawarechorus.org. or you can purchase them directly from a chorus member, the Button Up art gallery at 29 N. Sandusky St., or at the door.
