Days later, no ID yet for shooting victim found in Ohio park

PENINSULA, Ohio (AP) — Investigators say they’re still trying to identify a shooting victim found injured days ago along a northeast Ohio park trail.

The young woman has been hospitalized and unable to speak.

Runners found her with multiple gunshot wounds Sunday morning in Cuyahoga (ky-uh-HOH’-guh) Valley National Park.

A park spokeswoman tells the Akron Beacon Journal ( ) the woman had no ID. Officials have received some tips but are hoping for more. The tip line number is 440-546-5945.

Authorities think the woman is about 18 and describe her as a black woman who’s between 110 and 120 pounds and around 5-foot-5. She was wearing light blue cutoff jean shorts, a plain pink tank top and white Nike sneakers.

Cuyahoga Valley National Park covers 33,000 acres along the Cuyahoga River between Cleveland and Akron.
