Rescue crews find body in Ottawa River in northwest Ohio

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Rescue crews say they have found a body in the Ottawa River in northwest Ohio after a jet ski was spotted idling in the water with no one on it.

The Washington Township Fire Department says a water rescue team found the body near the jet ski off the shore of a Toledo neighborhood. Crews had responded to a call from a passer-by that came in around 7:30 a.m. Friday.

Authorities didn’t immediately release other details about the body. A Lucas County coroner’s investigator was on the scene Friday.

Authorities say the operator of the jet ski might have run into a bridge support.
