Columbus police ID unidentified man’s death as homicide

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Columbus police are working to identify a man whose body was found in an abandoned house over the weekend.

Authorities say he was a black man possibly in his 50s. They labeled his death an apparent homicide.

Police were called around 10:30 a.m. Saturday to Columbus’ Olde Towne East neighborhood, where they discovered the man’s decomposing body inside the home. He was declared dead at the scene.

It is the city’s 65th homicide this year.
