Parks showcase local natural beauty

Within Delaware County resides some of the most beautiful, pristine, and peaceful natural areas you will ever want to visit. Unfortunately, these are unknown to many people. They are the nine parks offered by Preservation Parks of Delaware County. There you will find quiet trails meandering through woods and prairies, foot bridges over peaceful streams, and small ponds teeming with wildlife. It’s a safe place to explore nature or enjoy one of the many programs offered for both adults and children.

I encourage everyone to visit the website (www.preservationparks.com) to find and explore a park near you. Whether you are looking for something fun and educational for the kids, or just need a quiet place to wander and quiet the mind, there’s a park for you nearby. One visit and I’m sure you will understand as I do the value of having these natural areas within our county.

This fall, Preservation Parks has a levy on the ballot. I support this levy, and I hope you will, too. It’s critical that we continue to protect and preserve the natural areas within our communities, and to have parks such as these available to us all.
