The public is invited to attend an open house Wednesday, Oct. 4 to view concept plans for a new park planned between Pollock and Braumiller roads, near the southeast corner of Delaware.

The open house will be hosted by Preservation Parks of Delaware County from 6 to 8 p.m. at Deer Haven Park, 4183 Liberty Road, Delaware.

The open house is an opportunity for the public to view the planned facilities and habitat restoration projects included in the conceptual plan for the 115-acre site. Attendees may drop in any time to see the plan and speak to staff members.

The new park site consists of gently rolling topography, mature woods, small streams and open grasslands. Major elements being considered include a trail system, constructed wetlands, restored forests, a four-season picnic shelter, natural play area, and sled hill.

When open, the new park will become the tenth park in the Preservation Parks system. The conceptual plan also can be viewed at www.preservationparks.com/parks.

For information about the open house, email [email protected], or call Senior Park Planner Matt Simpson at 740-524-8600, ext. 2.
