Olentangy handles Hilliard Davidson 3-1

The Olentangy boys soccer team got back to its winning ways, following up Wednesday’s 1-1 draw against rival Olentangy Orange with a solid 3-1 non-league win over host Hilliard Davidson Thursday night.

Eli Stoner, Alec Heidl and Matt Celona found the back of the net for the Braves while Jackson Tomsic and Nick Miller had assists in the win.

Big Walnut 3, Westland 2

Chris Geddis, Jonathan Mickley and Landen Rutkowski scored as the Golden Eagles outlasted the visiting Cougars in non-league action Thursday in Sunbury.

GIRLS SOCCER

Olentangy Liberty senior Abby Townsend scored less than two minutes into the action and the defense took care of the rest en route to a 2-0 non-league win over visiting Hilliard Darby Thursday in Powell.

Townsend scored her second of the night at the nine-minute mark off a feed from Lyndsey Kijowski.

The defense has been dominate, and didn’t disappoint against the Panthers, who lost for just the third time all season. The shutout was the Patriots’ fourth straight, extending a streak of more than 320 minutes without allowing a goal.

VOLLEYBALL

Lyssi Snouffer collected nine kills, nine digs and four aces as Delaware Christian cruised to a straight-set win over visiting Gahanna Christian Thursday evening.

The Eagles won the first set 25-5 and took the second and third by respective scores of 25-9 and 25-14.

Other DCS standouts included Sarah Rosato, who finished with 10 aces, seven kills and a block; Erin Bauslaugh, who had 15 assists, four digs, a block and an ace; and Sloane Dellipoala, who had a team best three blocks to go with three digs and a kill.
