Homecoming at OWU

Ohio Wesleyan University will celebrate homecoming Friday through Sunday, Oct. 20 to 22. This year marks the 175th anniversary of the university. Various groups will be hosting reunions. The Battling Bishops Tailgate is scheduled for noon on Oct. 21 at Selby Stadium ahead of the football game against Denison. The men’s and women’s soccer and rugby teams and women’s field hockey team have home matches that weekend. For information about homecoming activities, visit www.owu.edu.

Boo at the Zoo

Boo at the Zoo returns for Halloween, beginning Friday, Oct. 20. The “merry-not-scary” event will be open Oct. 20-22 and Oct. 27-29. Following is the schedule for Boo at the Zoo: Friday, 5 to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Special regions will be dressed up for Halloween. Celebrate Sunbury’s heritage

The Sunbury Heritage Festival is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 15 on the village square. Activities include carnival games, food court, blacksmith at the forge, haunted house and trail, Civil War camp, and special appearance by President Abraham Lincoln. Concord Township Fall Festival

Concord Township is holding a Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 4 to 7 p.m., 7990 Dublin Road. The Fire Department will also celebrate Fire Prevention Day and an open house of the new fire station.

CASA pancake breakfast

A pancake breakfast to benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children of Delaware and Union Counties is planned for Saturday, Nov. 4 at Delaware Christian Church, 2280 W. William St., Delaware. The all-you-can-eat meal will be served from 9 to 11 a.m. Admission is $7 for adults, $2 for children age 4 and younger. Apple ABC’s at Gallant Farm

Preservation Parks presents Preschool Farm Friends: Apple ABC’s on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. Apples are not only delicious, they are good for us, too. Preservation Parks invites children ages 4 to 5 to come to the farm and taste some apples and deserts made with them while completing apple-themed crafts. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Board of Health meets Saturday

The Delaware General Health District Board of Health will hold a special meeting beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14 in the basement training room of 1 W. Winter St., Delaware. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss and update the Strategic Plan, develop recommendations for Core Values, and review the Opiate Action Plan.
