Water line work to begin on Troy Road

0

Contractors for the City of Delaware this month will install new water line and fire hydrants along Troy Road, from Hills-Miller Road to Buttermilk Hill Road.

Work by Elite Excavating Co. of Ohio Inc. will take place within the road rights of way and should be completed in June, weather permitting. The contractor will use horizontal directional drilling for the work, reducing the number of open excavations needed. After the new water line has been installed and placed into service, pavement and turf restoration will take place. The city’s Water Capacity Improvement Fund is funding the project.

While every attempt will be made to keep construction disturbance to a minimum, area residents may experience road closures, traffic delays, restricted street parking and increased noise during regular business hours. The city will make every effort to provide 24 hours advance notice of any non-emergency water shut down, but residents may experience short periods of no water service.

Public questions may be directed to the Public Utilities Department by calling 740-203-1904.
