DACC students showered with accolades

Last month, more than 43 Delaware Area Career Center students traveled to the Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California, to compete and be recognized in a variety of fields.

At the conference, which was held from April 28-30, students presented in front of judges, showcased their work, and attended an award ceremony where the top 1o teams in the country were recognized in each category.

At the ceremony, the following students were recognized for placing in the top 10 nationally:

• Digital Design student Vienna Van Dromme finished second in the nation in the Computer Modeling competition.

• Digital Design students Erica Bartholomew, Grace Gabriel, Addison Ballard finished second in the nation in UX Design using Adobe XD.

• Digital Design student Josh Emmons finished fourth in the nation in Virtual Multimedia Promotion Individual.

• Digital Design student Reagan McHenry finished fifth in the nation in Virtual Multimedia Promotion Individual.

• Digital Design students Connor Tracy, Callum Caldwell, Zechariah Bowie and Anna Shroyer finished fifth in the nation in Virtual Multimedia Promotion Team Event.

• Digital Design student Amal Hassan finished fourth in the nation in Promotional Photography.

• Digital Design student Connor Kane finished 10th in the nation in Promotional Photography.

• Digital Design student Sean Meara finished fifth in the nation in Promotional Photography.

• Digital Design student Lillian Royise finished ninth in the nation in Promotional Photography.

• Digital Design students Jessica Hamilton, Mackenzie Hoye, Tallulah Conforti,Lindsay Reda finished fourth in the nation in 2D Animation.

• Digital Design 2D Animation team of Daniel San Filippo, Jordan Simmons, Amelia Dobay, Madelyn Fish finished sixth in the nation.

• Cybersecurity student Diego Noria finished fourth in the nation in Linux Operating System Fundamentals and received a Linux Pro Certification.

• Digital Design students Christian Aufderheide, Caleb Baker, Jack Steele and Nathan Reynolds finished sixth in the nation in Computer Animation.

• Digital Design students Carter Sharp and Max SanClemente finshed 10th in the nation in Podcast Production.

Additionally, the following students qualifed for nationals after being named one of the top teams at the state competition earlier this year:

• Delaware Hayes Business Students Claire Artemus and Presley Christopher finished in the top 5 in the state of Ohio and were national qualifiers in Presentation Management Team.

• Digital Design student Allison Reynolds finished first in the state of Ohio and 11th in the nation in Fundamentals of Desktop Publishing.

• App Dev student Emon Bhattacherjee finished 15th in the nation in SQL Database Fundamentals.

• Digital Design student Alayna Moore was Ohio state champion and national qualifier in Graphic Design.

• App Dev and Digital Design students Cohen Brown (app), Logan Ragland (app), Gavin Compton (DD), and Janya Nelahonne (DD) finished as state runners-up and national qualifier.

• Digital Design junior Janya Nelahonne finished first in the state of Ohio and national qualifier in Digital Communication and Design Concepts.

• App Dev student Micah Olson finished third in Ohio and was a national qualifier in C# Programming.
