The Board of Commissioners of Delaware County met in regular session on May 9, where it approved constructing a 602-foot segment of shared use path along Rail Timber Way in Orange Township at a cost of about $75,000. This is within the Olentangy Crossings tax-increment financing area.
The board also reappointed Christopher Acker to the Delaware Airport Commission. The commissioners said they attended various meetings, the Ohio Chamber’s “State of Business,” and a water tower jacking in Genoa Township.
In the other May meetings, the commissioners:
• Adopted a Public Records Policy on May 13. They also approved owner’s agreements for the Carlton at Berkshire Rider Road Extension, Beechwood Estates and Painter Farms. A project survey petitioned by the Big Bear Farms Homeowners Association for watershed drainage improvements was approved in a public hearing.
• Had no objections to a liquor license request by Lost in the Woods Bike Shop on Cheshire Road in Berlin Township/Galena on May 16.
• Approved “a partial release and vacation of sanitary sewer easement” at The Ravines at Hoover subdivision in Genoa Township on May 20. Plats of subdivision for sections of Berlin Bluffs, Berlin Farm and Liberty Grand District were also approved.
• Accepted a LEAP Forward Grant of $139,522.45 to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office from the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services/Ohio Drug Law Enforcement Fund on May 23.
• Acknowledged receipt of an annexation petition of 1.8 acres in Liberty Township to the City of Powell on May 30. Tiffany Maag, director of environmental services and the Regional Sewer District, gave a sanitary approval update. Deputy Director Erik McPeek gave a similar report on July 29.
