Lewis W. “Bill” and Karlyn Byers will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, Feb. 7, at an open house at the Scioto Township Community Hall, 3737 Ostrander Road, from 2 to 4 p.m.
Lewis Byers and the former Karlyn Ruble were married on Feb. 5, 1966, at Christ Methodist Church, Columbus, by the Rev. James McCormick.
They are the parents of a son, Lowell W. (Connie) of Ostrander, and a daughter, Khadine K. of Delaware. They also have one granddaughter, Konnor, a senior at Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
Lewis, a retired farmer, also is a retired United Methodist pastor and a retired school bus driver. Karlyn retired after working as a correspondent, reporter and lifestyle editor at the Delaware Gazette and, most recently, at the Marysville Journal-Tribune.
