Road closings planned

Delaware County Engineer will be closing Cheshire Road between Gregory Road and Balmoral Drive for sanitary installation . The road will close on Monday, June 5 and is scheduled to open Friday, June 9.

Also, it will be closing Howard Road between Hogback Road and North Old State Road for a culvert replacement. The road will close on Monday, June 5 and is scheduled to open on Thursday, June 15.

Antique tractor show Saturday

Tractors are now a ubiquitous feature on family farms, but that was not always the case. Preservation Parks of Delaware County will celebrate the machines that helped farmers to complete tasks much easier and much faster than in the past.

The Antique Tractor Show will be held Saturday, June 3, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Gallant Farm, 2150 Buttermilk Hill Road. Aside from viewing antique tractors, event attendees can participate in an old-fashioned cake walk, enjoy a toy tractor display and a kiddy pedal tractor pull. There is a “fun and games” area as well, for kids of all ages.

In addition, the Delaware County Master Gardeners will hold informal talks on beekeeping, growing fruits and berries, vegetables, herbs, seed saving, container gardening, rain barrels and composting. Their talks will take place from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. during the event.

Both are free and for all ages.

Preservation Parks board to meet

Preservation Parks of Delaware County Board of Commissioners will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 8 at Hogback Ridge Park, 2656 Hogback Road, Sunbury.
