Van Young will share his presentation “The Civil War – Facts and Trivia” during a Big Walnut Area Historical Society meeting in the Myers Inn Museum meeting room.

The meeting is on Tuesday, March 8, at 7:30 p.m.

Young has collected bizarre and unusual facts pertaining to the war, along with some questions that will test everyone’s knowledge of not only the battles and conflicts of the war between the states, but of the people and the times.

Young, Ohio-born and raised, has been a resident of Columbus for the last 35 years. One of his major goals has been to spend time studying the Civil War following his 2012 retirement from AT&T.

Young is active in three area Civil War organizations, and participates in the Worthington Presidential Round Table discussion group that meets on Monday mornings at the Griswold Center. He has also presented to area history groups and senior centers on several Civil War topics and other historical events.

He resides with his wife, Nancy, in Worthington and said he looks forward to visiting many of the battlefields and museums associated with the Civil War and other events associated with American history.

Young’s presentation is free to the public.

The Myers Inn Museum is at 45 S. Columbus St. in Sunbury.
