Sunbury Police Chief Pat Bennett received the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8736 community service award during a luncheon at the post on Feb. 21. Post Commander Jerry Jodrey, at left, said the post’s award is in its inaugural year. “We wanted to give this award to a person in our community who strives to make our community and our daily lives better,” Jodrey said. “As Sunbury’s police chief, Pat is out there every day, serving the residents of this community.” During the luncheon, Bennett also received a community service award from the Combat Infantrymen’s Association.
