County seeks applicants for corrections planning board

Delaware County commissioners are planning to appoint members to the Delaware County Community Corrections Planning Board.

Representatives of this board are made up of judges, attorneys, commissioners, local law enforcement, probation officers and local Delaware County boards.

County commissioners are seeking to appoint two citizen members. The member must be part of the largest racial minority in Delaware County, according to county officials.

According to the 2010 census, that largest group is Asian. An “Asian” is defined, for enumeration purposes, as a person having origins in any of the original peoples of the Far East, Southeast Asia or the Indian subcontinent, officials said.

The Corrections Planning Board is responsible for adopting and revising a comprehensive plan for the development, implementation and operation of correction services within the county.

Interested individuals can obtain a board appointment application through county commissioners’ office by:

• Picking up an application at county commissioners’ office at 101 N. Sandusky St.

• Calling the commissioners’ office at 740-833-2100 to have an application mailed.

• Printing an application from the county’s website — www.co.delaware.oh.us/hr/board/board.asp — and mailing it back to the address listed above.

Completed applications must be returned to commissioners’ office no later than 4:30 p.m. on March 22.
