Delaware County Sheriff Russell Martin recognized four employees last week as outstanding employees in 2015.

Jackie Tolonese was awarded the 2015 Civilian of the Year award.

“Her intelligence and selfless acts have gained her the respect and confidence of her supervisors,” Martin said. “She is always professional; the ultimate team player, who exhibits a willingness to get the job done – and get it done right – according to her division captain.”

Tolonese has been at the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office for two years and conducts new hire training and orientation for her division. Martin said she rotates her shifts so that she can work alongside new hires during training – to help ensure proper and consistent training.

Amanda Strohl was honored as 2015 Dispatcher of the Year.

“She takes pride in her job and has gone above and beyond on several occasions,” Martin said.

Martin said Strohl helped restructure the new dispatcher training procedure and has a close rapport with her co-workers in dispatch and on the road.

“Even after 15 years as a dispatcher, she remains empathetic and compassionate to everyone who calls for help,” Martin said.

Troy Stiffler was named the 2015 Corrections Officer of the Year.

“[Stiffler] serves as a role model and mentor, and he wants to see others succeed,” Martin said.

Martin said he was nominated by three sergeants for this award. Stiffler has been at the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office for five years.

Martin said others describe Stiffler as selfless, positive, hard-working, enthusiastic, a team player, dependable and always professional.

Detective Jason Campbell was named 2015 Deputy of the Year

Martin said Campbell, a 15-year employee at the sheriff’s office, is intelligent, caring and a competent law enforcement officer.

“He is always looking for ways to improve his abilities and skill set,” Martin said. “He not only wants to better himself, but the DCSO as a whole. If he learns someone is in need, he is one of the first to lend a willing hand. His tireless dedication to his work results in successful convictions, and he is respected among his division as well as other agencies in the community and state.”
