Delaware police report:

A man tried to force himself into a home on South Washington Street Monday afternoon. A woman told police a man came to her home and said the resident’s husband had sent him to look for something. The woman said she did not know the man, shut the door and called police.

A father and his 4-year-old son were involved in a crash Monday afternoon in the 400 block of Troy Road. Both sustained injuries in the crash and the father appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. They were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. The man was issued a citiation for operating a motor vehicle under the influence and carrying a concealed weapon — a large knife. An child endangering investigation remains open and police say additional charges are likely.

Vending machines at Glenross Golf Club were damaged overnight Sunday.

Graffiti was found on the bike path between East Winter Street and U.S. 23 South Monday morning.

A 16-year old reported that yard tools he was using were stolen Monday afternoon. He told police he had been working on an enviromental project at the wetlands area of Dempsey Middle School Sunday and said he left some tools and a cooler in the area. When he returned the next day, the tools were missing. Police have no suspects.
