The Olentangy Local School District’s tax issue – that would provide funds for construction of a fourth high school — was approved at Tuesday’s primary election.
Unofficial results indicated that there were 17,978 “yes” votes and 13,104 “no” votes.
The tax issue includes a bond issue and two additional tax levies on the ballot in 71 precincts. The 1.3-mill, 35-year bond is for construction of a new high school; a 1.0-mill permanent levy is for improvements for a continuing period of time; and a 5.9-mill operating levy is for current expenses for a continuing period of time.
The district said the issue will cost an additional $241.50 a year per $100,000 of home valuation.
