A 1976 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University graduate who has led the Denver Post as its editor for the past 14 years has announced that he will resign effective April 1, according to the newspaper.
Gregory L. Moore, an OWU board of trustees member, has also worked at the Boston Globe, Cleveland Plain Dealer and Dayton Journal Herald in a nearly four-decade career.
He spoke at Delaware’s 23rd annual Martin Luther King Jr. breakfast celebration in January.
Moore’s honors include Editor of the Year Award from the National Press Foundation and Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association of Black Journalists. The Post has won four Pulitzer Prizes under his leadership.
At Ohio Wesleyan, Moore has provided support for the Butler A. Jones House of Black Culture, the Willa B. Player Black Resource Center, a mission trip to Ghana, and other OWU initiatives.
The Post will conduct a national search for Moore’s replacement, the newspaper reported Tuesday.
