A former Reynoldsburg maid was sentenced to three years in prison Friday after pleading guilty in Delaware County Common Pleas Court to three counts of theft.

Cynthia J. Rector, 43, appeared in court Friday afternoon to be sentenced on three theft charges by Common Pleas Judge Everett Krueger. One charge was a fourth-degree felony; the other two were fifth-degree felonies.

At the hearing, Krueger imposed a sentenced of three years in prison and ordered Rector to pay restitution in the amount of $23,450.

Rector was indicted on March 27, 2015, on 14 theft charges and a charge of misuse of credit cards. She pleaded not guilty to all the charges at her May 2015 arraignment. She then pleaded guilty to the three theft charges on Feb. 23 and the remaining charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors.

Prosecutors said Rector was working as a maid in Delaware and other counties when several of her customers began reporting items, like jewelry, cash, gift cards and electronics, had been stolen.

Rector was in the Delaware County Jail Tuesday, awaiting transportation to prison.
