Paul Olen and Bowen Nace, an eighth-grader in the Dempsey Learning Club, stretch plastic over boards after-school Friday to create a cold frame in the courtyard of Woodward Elementary School. Olen said the cold frame will be home to trays of vegetable seeds. Other students in the Dempsey Learning Club and students involved in School Aged Child Care program at Woodward also worked on mulching in the community garden and packets of seeds.
