Genoa Township trustees will hold their first public hearing to review and solicit public comment on the township’s 2016 comprehensive plan update on during a special meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, May 16, at the township community hall.

Trustees said future hearings may also be held but dates have yet to be determined.

Information about the comprehensive plan process, as well as a link to the draft document itself, can be found at genoatwp.com/zoning/comp.

Trustees say that hard copies of the document will not be made available at the May 16 meeting.

Questions about the plan update may be directed to Joe Shafer, director of development and zoning, via email at [email protected] or by calling Shafer at 614-899-0725.

In other business, trustees recently noted that the city of Columbus has informed Genoa Township that it will be constructing improvements to the Twin Bridges boat ramp and parking lot over the next several months.

Both the ramp and the parking lot will be closed during the duration of this project. Red Bank Road should not be affected. Parking lot work is anticipated to be completed by July. Stormwater green infrastructure, boat ramp and shoreline protection improvements may not be completed until fall.
