The 109th annual banquet of the Radnor/Buckeye Valley Alumni Association will be held at All Occasions Catering and Banquet Facility at 6989 Waldo-Delaware Road, Waldo.

The banquet will be on Saturday, June 4, with a social time from 4:30 to 6 p.m. with light beverages served. Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. with a program beginning at 7 p.m.

Reservations can be made by contacting Mary Gay Williamson at 740-369-4742. The cost is $14 per person and must be paid in advance. The deadline for reservations is May 28.

Honored classes for this year’s banquet include the Radnor classes of 1941, 1946, 1951, 1956 and 1961, and Radnor graduates of the Buckeye Valley classes of 1966, 1971 and 1976. Radnor/Buckeye Valley alumni, guests and “friends of Radnor,” in addition to anyone who ever attended, taught, worked for or was an administrator at the Radnor School, are welcome to attend the banquet and become a member of the alumni association, organizers say.

Honorees at the banquet will be:

• Annette Lucas, also known as “Netty,” who spent 27 years in the Radnor/Buckeye Valley school system. Lucas taught English at Ashley for three years, taught English at the Radnor middle school for 12 years, and helped with the junior and senior class plays. She is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University with a bachelor of science degree in education. She assisted her late husband in many Radnor school and community functions. Larry and “Netty” had three children — Larry, Linda and Lance. Her two grandchildren are Jaqueline and Andrew.

• The late Frank Wright was the custodian at Radnor school for 12 years. He was hired in 1942 and retired in 1954. Wright also worked for the Penry Stone Co. He injured his arm in a conveyor accident and then took the job at the school. During his time at Radnor, he was the only custodian. Mr. Wright had two children — son Paul and daughter June.
