Delaware County commissioners plan to appoint two members to serve on the Delaware County Transit Board and are seeking applicants.
The transit board is a seven-member board that provides governance for Delaware County’s public transit system, commonly known as the Delaware Area Transit Agency or DATA Bus.
Appointments are made for three-year terms. Qualified applicants must be electors of Delaware County. Commissioners are planning to appoint two citizen members to fill three-year terms ending Oct. 24, 2018.
The board is responsible for the governance, management, administration and operation of the county public transit system. It meets at 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month.
Interested individuals can obtain a board appointment application through the Delaware County commissioners’ office by:
• Picking up an application at commissioners’ office, 101 N. Sandusky St.
• Calling the commissioners’ office at 740-833-2120 to have an application mailed.
• Printing a board appointment application off the Delaware County website — www.co.delaware.oh.us — and mailing it to the commissioners’ office.
Applications must be returned to county commissioners’ office no later than 4:30 p.m. Sept. 4.
