The Delaware County Diabetes Association would like to “Break the Ice” from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, at the Foot & Ankle Wellness Center, 1871 W. William St.
The event will feature shaved ice, popcorn, beverages and giveaways, and it’s open to the public.
The association will honor Dr. David Smith, a family doctor who founded the organization in 1984, and Dr. Gerald Kremer, a family doctor who led the group for a time. Dr. Jane Graebner, a podiatrist who’s been practicing in Delaware since 1982, recently took the reins of the association, which promotes diabetes education and awareness to Delaware County residents.
The Foot & Ankle Wellness Center organized the Sweet Feat 5K Walk the past two years in Delaware, and moving forward the proceeds from that event will benefit the association.
The association is looking for board members, as well as “Friends of DCDA,” volunteers who would be willing to handle tasks such as manning an informational table at area health fairs. If interested, call the association at 740-990-4316.
