Buckeye Valley looks to solve HVAC issue

The Buckeye Valley school board on Wednesday hired Roger D. Fields and Associates to solve the middle school’s heating and air-conditioning system problems.

The upgrade will cost the district between $1.5 million to $2 million, according to Superintendent Andrew Miller.

“We’ve had issues off and on for the last decade,” said Miller. “In the last couple of years, we’ve updated some of the controls.”

In its current condition, the system has been costing the district $5,000 a month to cool or $4,000 to heat the building per month. According to Miller, the district is looking to offset the cost by installing a more efficient system.
