Parks programs scheduled

Preservation Parks of Delaware County has several programs planned.

They include:

• “Family Fun on the Farm,” Saturday, June 18, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join Delaware County Master Gardeners and Preservation Parks to learn about weed control, container gardening, herbs, composting, seed saving, growing fruits and berries. Free for all ages. Gallant Farm, 2150 Buttermilk Hill Road, Delaware.

• “Critter Clues: Nature’s Who-Done-It,” Saturday, June 18, 10 a.m. to noon Join a park police officer for an informative “Who done it.” Investigate a “crime scene” and follow clues and evidence throughout the park to solve the caper. Free for ages 6-9. Shale Hollow Park, 6320 Artesian Run, Lewis Center.

• Railroad open houses, Saturday, June 18, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sunday, June 19, noon to 4 p.m. The Delaware County Model Railroaders hold open houses for visitors to see model trains travel through a miniature village and countryside. Free for all ages. Big Walnut Community Trailhouse, 168 S. Vernon St., Sunbury.

• “Hound Hike,” Monday, June 20, 6 p.m. Bring your socialized canine for a walk with a naturalist. Dogs receive a bandana at a first hike, and a paw print stamp for each hike completed. All ages. Blues Creek Park, 9627 Fontanelle Road, Ostrander.
