Paul Zimber and Donald Lettie, local blood drive coordinators for the Sunbury United Methodist Church, recently reported a record collection during the fellowship’s June 10 American Red Cross blood drive at the church.

Lettie said the Red Cross had a goal of 39 units for the day, but 54 units were collected.

Future blood drives are scheduled for Sunday, July 3, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Friday, Aug. 12, 1 to 7 p.m.; Sunday, Sept. 4, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Friday, Oct. 14, 1 to 7 p.m.

All church blood drives are held in its lower level multi-purpose room.

To schedule an appointment to donate during any church blood drive, go to redcrossblood.org/centralohio and type Sunbury’s ZIP code – 43074 – in the “Find a Blood Drive” box. Scroll down to the “SUMC Blood Drive” and click “Schedule an Appointment.”

Walk-ins are welcome, through the wait time might be a bit longer without an appointment.

Sunbury United Methodist is at 100 W. Cherry St.
