No serious injuries in boat crash

No one was seriously injured when two fishing boats crashed into each other Tuesday morning in Delaware Lake.

Officials from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources reported Tuesday that at around 9:30 a.m. two fishing boats collided head-on as one was leaving the area around the dock while the other was coming in.

ODNR officials said there were two people in the boat coming in and one person in the boat leaving the harbor.

An investigation is ongoing but ODNR reports it believes it was the fault of drivers not being aware of their surroundings.

ODNR reports, however, that all three people were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with minor bruises and scrapes. The involved parties were back at the scene by 12:30 p.m. where they were interviewed by ODNR investigators.

No charges had been filed Tuesday afternoon.
