The Delaware Board of Education will consider approving a number of staffing changes, including two new school psychologists, four intervention specialists and four new teachers at its meeting tonight.
The board meeting begins today at 6 p.m. at the district administration building at 148 N. Washington St.
The board will consider approving a number of employment hires, including:
• Lindsey Feltz and Karis Mason, who will work as school psychologists for the district.
• Sarah Kuney, who will be an intervention specialist at Conger Elementary School.
• Erin Hughes who will serve as an intervention specialist at Schultz Elementary School.
• Anthony Zarcone and Christopher Perez, who will serve as intervention specialists at Hayes High School.
The board will also consider approving a number of staff resignations, including Rebecca Shick, a teacher at Dempsey Middle; Erin Hugel, a teacher at Schultz Elementary; and Kathy Friend and Dawna Tompkins, who were School Aged Child Care staff members.
The board will also consider approving a proposal for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment to be installed at Hayes High School. The equipment would be purchased from Johnson Controls Inc. and would cost $32,694.
The board will also consider approving an easement at Woodward Elementary so the American Electric Power Co. can relocate electrical service to accommodate the additions and renovations to the building. The building will be getting a new gym and several classrooms. The work is expected to be completed by the start of the 2017-18 school year.
