Delaware-area students earn Youngstown scholarships

Several area students were among more than 1,000 Youngstown State University freshmen who have received awards through the YSU “Scholarships for Excellence” program.

They include:

• Melanie Smith of Powell, a freshman majoring in pre-nursing, who received the Deans’ Scholarship and Honors Program Scholarship.

• Jordan Ustaszewski of Lewis Center, a freshman majoring in chemical engineering, who received the President’s Scholarship and Honors Program Scholarship.

• Joshua Beaumont of Westerville, a freshman majoring in physics astronomy, who received the Red and White Scholarship.

• Rachel Ellis of Westerville, a freshman majoring in forensic science, who received the Red and White Scholarship.

• Rahul Gupta of Dublin, a freshman majoring in combined science, who received the Trustees’ Scholarship.

• Krish Nair of Dublin, a freshman majoring in combined science, who received the Trustees’ Scholarship.
