Park programs set this month

Preservation Parks of Delaware is offering several free programs.

They include:

• “Folk Songs Around the Fire,” Sunday, July 24, 7 p.m. Bring a musical instrument and some songs to share for a night of music around the campfire. Listeners are welcome. Free, all ages. Gallant Farm, 2150 Buttermilk Hill Road, Delaware.

• Gallant Farm Book Club. Read books that were popular during the Depression era and World War II years, or were written about those periods. Read “The Aviator’s Wife” by Melanie Benjamin in advance and come for a lively discussion. The July book club will meet Wednesday, July 27, at 6:30 p.m. Gallant Farm.

• “Thursday Evening Concert Series,” Thursday, July 28, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Featured will be In Full Swing, a 1930s-’40s big band. Admission and parking are free, and donations are welcome. Attendees may bring blankets, lawn chairs and refreshments, or purchase food from a food truck. Alcohol is prohibited in the park. Free, all ages. Gallant Woods Park, 2151 Buttermilk Hill Road, Delaware.

Registration is not required for the events.
