Children attending Main Street Delaware’s “Picnic with the Cops” event during First Friday speak to an animatronic police dog piloted by Delaware police officer and school resource officer John Hartman. The dog could drive, look around and even “talk” (with Hartman’s help) to children during the downtown event, which also included a line-up of police vehicles, a DJ, free hot dogs and many local vendors.
