Delaware police report:

A man flagged police down in the area of High Street and Liberty Street Monday just after midnight and said he was thinking of committing suicide. Police transported the man to Grady Memorial Hospital for a mental health evaluation. No charges were filed.

A caller reported a homeless man had started a fire on the sidewalk Friday night in the area of Lake Street and Winter Street. Police found the man and a small fire in the area. Police put out the fire and decided the man was intoxicated. Police were unable to find a sober party to care for him so he was arrested and taken to the Delaware City Jail until he was sober. He was issued a summons to appear in court on a charge of disorderly conduct via intoxication.
