Fifth-graders at Delaware’s Carlisle Elementary School wave during the first day of school Wednesday. The fifth-graders are part of the first class of fifth-graders to be instructed at Carlisle and were being taught in a new classroom that was completed over the summer as part of the school district moving fifth grade from Willis Intermediate School to the elementary schools and moving sixth grade from Willis to Dempsey Middle School. Only two sections of fifth-graders are still being taught at Willis, students from Woodward Elementary and Smith Elementary, because renovations to add class space have not been completed at those schools.
