Harlem Township Days on the horizon

This summer’s version of Harlem Township Days is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 20 and 21, at Community Park in Center Village.

Saturday begins with a 10 a.m. opening parade and a daylong antique tractor show. A tractor tug pull begins at 11 a.m.; there will be Conestoga wagon rides from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the “Unlikely Patriot,” George Adam Mann, will wander the parks grounds throughout the day.

The Buckeye Beautyz Junior Roller Derby team will be at the basketball court from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, and Koguryo Taekwondo will perform from 2 to 5 p.m.

From 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday there will be pony rides, a Velcro wall, and a medium obstacle course. An arts and crafts auction is scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m.; and Andy Wallace & Two Bricks Shy will perform from 7 to 9 p.m.

Sunday begins with an 8 to 10 a.m. pancake breakfast, followed by a non-denominational church service at 10:30.

The annual cruise-in is from noon to 3 p.m. Registration is from 9 a.m. to noon, with awards at 3 p.m.

Arnett Howard and Friends will perform from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Conductor Dan, the Railroad Man, will be on site all day long; there will be a kids’ pedal pull at 1 p.m. at the basketball court; and McFarland’s llamas will be available for viewing and petting from 1 to 5 p.m.

From noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, a mechanical bucking shark will be available, a surfboard ride will be open, and there will be a medium bounce and obstacle course for youngsters to enjoy.
