St. John Neumann Catholic Church will host an end-of-summer and the start of the 2016-17 school year celebration with a community fireworks display at 8:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21.

Tina Burtch, the church’s evangelization director and confirmation & high school youth minister, said everyone in the community is invited to attend the celebration and fireworks display.

“Bring your family and your lawn chairs and set up in the north parking lot,” Burtch said. “Come early to enjoy the playground and the sunset.”

Burtch said teenagers are welcome to join a 6 p.m. picnic in the church pavilion, where motivational speaker Bobby Angel will share a message at 7:30 p.m.

Angel is a campus minister and theology teacher at an all-boys Catholic high school in California.

St. John Neumann Parish is located west of Sunbury at 9633 E. State Route 37 – at the Carters Corner Road intersection.
