Council to have second readings for development projects

Delaware City Council will have the second reading to approve final development plans and plats for a portion of the Communities of Glenross at tonight’s meeting.

The development by Pulte Homes consists of three sections, 97 single-family lots and more than 32 acres, located between the Glenross Golf Course and railroad on Cheshire Road.

Additionally, Council will have a second reading of final development plans and plats for Pulte Homes Heatherton project. The phase for the project consists of 32 single-family lots on 9.020 acres which are accessed by streets in Elbridge and Clymer streets and a street in Burgoyne Street.

Council has scheduled a 7:30 p.m. public hearing and second reading to rezone 0.88 acres for Delaware Housing Corp. to expand the Londontown Apartment complex.

DCH purchased the property in 2014 to expand the complex’s parking lot by 20 spaces with with the inclusion of a 1,400-square-foot play area, all of which would be surrounded by a security fence and connected to the exiting clubhouse and sidewalk.

In other business, Mayor Carolyn Kay Riggle will present a proclamation declaring September as Hunger Action Month.

Council will start the meeting in executive session 6:30 p.m.

The meeting, open to the public, is scheduled for 7 p.m. at 1 S. Sandusky St. in council chambers.
