Delaware police report:
Police were dispatched to Mingo Park Wednesday evening to deal with an intoxicated person. Police were told the man appeared to be stumbling around shirtless, carrying an open beer and had thrown tennis balls at other people in the park. Police found the man and determined he was indeed intoxicated. They also learned he was on probation in Marion County for a previous public intoxication incident. The man acknowledged that he had thrown the tennis balls at another park patron “in fun” and police determined he was too intoxicated to take care of himself. He was taken into custody and held until sober at the Delaware County Jail. He was also charged with public intoxication.
An iPad, Kindle and $10 in cash were stolen from an unlocked vehicle Wednesday night while it was parked on Lake Street. The investigation is ongoing.
Tools and an air conditioning unit were stolen from a home being remodeled on Reid Street Wednesday. A report was taken, but there are no suspects at this time.
