SourcePoint’s ‘Health & Wellness Expo’ Oct. 29

SourcePoint will host its 2015 “Health & Wellness Expo” on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 3 to 7 p.m.

This event, presented by OhioHealth and Sarah Moore Community, will feature free health screenings for local adults age 55 and older, information, and fitness demonstrations, as well as a free workshop and resources for family caregivers. Admission is free to the public.

A variety of free health screenings will be available to adults age 55 and older, including balance and range of motion, density, cholesterol, dental, depression, falls prevention, hearing, memory, spine and vision. Additional services include chair massages and sound therapy. SourcePoint instructors will provide a variety of enrichment center program demonstrations, such as Tai Chi, yoga and other group exercises.

Kroger Marketplace will conduct a vaccination clinic, offering flu, pneumonia and shingles vaccines. Multiple insurance plans are accepted, as is payment via cash or check.

The expo will also feature a free workshop and resources for family caregivers. Those caring for loved ones will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive workshop titled “Home for the Holidays” that will address how to cope with stressors associated with the holiday season and how to organize family meetings.

Caregivers also may obtain information about the local resources available, and meet Sara Stemen, SourcePoint’s caregiver program coordinator.
