Theatre company to host auditions

The Arena Fair Theatre Co. will host auditions for its November production “The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial” at Zion United Church of Christ, 51 W. Central Ave., in Delaware 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and Tuesday. There are 13 males and female roles available.

Casting taken from the Delaware County Bar Association and the general public are all welcome. Auditions consists of cold readings from the script based on the hit play by Herman Wouk. Rehearsals will be two to three evenings per week.

Performance dates are Nov. 11 to 13; and Nov. 18 to 20.

Church holds meet your neighbor event

Central Community Baptist Church will host its annual Meet Your Neighbor Night on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 6 p.m. at All Occasions Catering, 6989 Waldo Delaware Road.

Music from several area churches will be presented, plus a time of Congregational singing. Holy Communion will be observed. Light refreshments will follow the event.

5K walk planned

The third annual Sweet Feat 5K Walk will take place Saturday at Willow Brook at Delaware Run, 100 Delaware Crossing West. Proceeds from the event benefit the Delaware County Diabetes Association.

“As the single major annual fundraiser for the DCDA, we hope this event continues to grow each year,” said Dr. Jane Graebner, a Delaware podiatrist and DCDA board president. “Proceeds allow us to furnish much-needed medication and services to diabetics in Delaware County, to help prevent complications such as loss of a limb.”

This year’s event also will offer a 1K (0.62-mile) course that is wheelchair accessible. There will be giveaways, including a free T-shirt and a sweet foot candy container, and free foot screenings will be available from podiatrists of the Foot & Ankle Wellness Center.

You can register at SweetFeat.org or at the Foot & Ankle Wellness Center, 1871 W. William St., Delaware. Cost to register is $25 before Sept. 24 or $30 the day of the event, but kids 12 and younger can register for free. You should arrive at 8:30 a.m. the day of the event. The walk begins at 9 a.m.
