Insurance seminar planned

SourcePoint will host its 17th Annual Insurance Seminar on Wednesday, Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon at 800 Cheshire Road.

This free seminar is open to older adults, caregivers, and anyone interested in learning more about Medicare insurance programs, including prescription drug coverage, Advantage Plans, and supplements.

Additional topics of interest will be discussed, including Medicare fraud, scams, and identity theft, as well as wills, trusts and probate. Seating is still available; please register online at www.MySourcePoint.org or call 740-203-2382 by Tuesday, Oct. 4.

Portion of US 23 reduced to one lane

The following work is planned in the Delaware County area on the specified dates and times. All work is weather dependent; it may be postponed or cancelled without prior notice, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

•US 23 will be reduced to one lane in each direction between SR 315 and Hawthorne Boulevard from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for intersection work at US 23 and Stratford Road. Completion: Sept. 30.

•State Route 750 and Sawmill Parkway –SR 750 is reduced to one lane in each direction for construction. SR 750 is being widened to two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane between Sawmill Parkway and the Columbus Zoo.

Northbound Sawmill Parkway is reduced to one lane north of SR 750 for widening. Completion: September 2016.

•US 36 east will be reduced to one lane between Davidson Lane and 3 B’s and a K Road from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. for pavement repair. Completion: Oct. 1.

‘Meet Your Neighbor Night’ planned

Central Community Baptist Church will be hosting their annual” Meet Your Neighbor Night” on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 6 p.m. at All Occasions Catering, 6989 Waldo Delaware Road.

Music from several churches will be presented for your enjoyment – plus a time of Congregational singing for all to participate. Holy Communion will be observed. Light refreshments will follow the event.

Road closure for festival

Calvin Access Controls, Inc will be hosting an Annual Fall Harvest Festival on Taway Road between State Route 257 and Mooney Road. The closure will begin Friday, Oct. 7 at 8 a.m. and open Sunday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. There will be increased pedestrians and traffic in the area.

Golf event to raise funds for Olentangy grants, scholarships

The Olentangy Education Foundation will have its 17th Annual Golf Outing, one of the organization’s primary fundraising events, on Monday at The Lakes Golf & Country Club, 6740 Worthington Road, in Westerville. Founded in 1990 as the Olentangy Pride Foundation, the non-profit, independent organization of community volunteers’ mission is to raise funds to further enhance the academic programs of the Olentangy Local School District.
