Open Show Dairy Show

The Supreme Champion cow of the 2016 Delaware County Open Dairy Show was Brook, a 10-year-old Jersey cow shown by Meghan Thurston of Shady Haven Jerseys LLC. The Reserve Supreme Champion cow was a Guernsey exhibited by Jason Parker.

The Supreme Champion Heifer was an Ayrshire shown by Michelle Downerd and Tom Downerd. The Reserve Champion Heifer was a Guernsey exhibited by Jason Parker.

Jack VanGundy earned first place in a class of eight competing for PeeWee Showmanship. Kelly Jones won the adult showmanship competition.

Meghan Thurston won Junior and Senior Champion Jersey awards. Reserve Sr. Champion went to Lindsey Gilmore. The Reserve Junior Champion Jersey was shown by Kayla Eubanks.

Jason Parker had the Junior and Senior Champion Guernseys while Rich Hill showed the Reserve Junior and Reserve Senior Champion Guernseys.

Joyce Downerd and Mark Downerd exhibited the Senior Champion Brown Swiss and DEE Lehner Farm showed the Reserve Champion Brown Swiss. The Junior Champion Swiss was exhibited by DEE Lehner Farm.

The Senior Champion Holstein was shown by DEE Lehner Farm. The Junior and Reserve Junior Champion Holstein animals were exhibited by Joyce Downerd and Mark Downerd.

Joyce Downerd and Mark Downerd had the Champion and Reserve Junior Champion Ayrshires. The Junior Champion and Reserve Champion Ayrshire animals were shown by Michelle Downerd and Tom Downerd.

Rich Hill had the Junior and Senior Champion Milking Shorthorns and Mike Fleming showed the Reserve Junior and the Reserve Champion Milking Shorthorns.

The Jersey bull calf class was won by Bill Thurston. The Brown Swiss bull class was won by Mike Fleming.

Class winners included DEE Lehner Farm, Meghan Thurston, Rich Hill, Jason Parker, Joyce Downerd and Mark Downerd, Michelle Downerd and Tom Downerd, Abigail Meeks, Marie Bradek, Mike Fleming, Kayla Eubanks, Lindsey Gilmore, Ideal Jersey Farm, and William Thurston.

A new class this year was decorated calf milk bottles. Sara Steck had the Most Bling. The most Dairy was shown by Joyce Downerd. The most Creative was Cookie Monster by Melissa Downerd and the Best seasonal was by Marie Bradek. The overall winner was the Dairy Queen by Mary Fleming.
