The Greater Powell Area Chamber of Commerce is endorsing the Delaware Area Career Center’s tax levy renewal slated for the Nov. 3 ballot.

The levy is a renewal of a previously passed levy that was on the ballot 10 years ago.

According to Tanya McCarthy, executive director of the Powell Chamber of Commerce, “As a Chamber of Commerce, we try to only support issues that have an impact on the community, commerce and the well-being and stability of the local economy. Mary Beth Freeman, superintendent of DACC, met with our chamber board of directors last week and they unanimously supported this levy.”

DACC is in the beginning stages of a campus consolidation project. The levy renewal is not related to the building project.
