Ostrander council meets Monday

The village of Ostrander council meeting is Monday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. at the 19 S. Main St. location.

Art exhibit begins Saturday

The Senior Showcase: Art After 55 exhibit will be open to the public from Saturday, Oct. 15 through Saturday, Oct. 22. More than 150 original works of art created by local residents age 55 and older will be on display at the Orange Branch of the Delaware County District Library, 7171 Gooding Blvd., Delaware.

Earlier this year, artists from Delaware County and surrounding counties submitted original artwork for consideration into this juried exhibit. More than 80 artists were accepted. The Showcase opens with a reception on Friday, October 14, at which time awards will be given to the Best in Show as well as to the top three winners in the 2D category and 3D category. The work will remain on display at the library until Saturday, Oct. 22.

The Showcase is a cooperative effort of Delaware County District Library, Willow Brook Christian Communities, and SourcePoint. The Delaware County District Library Orange Branch is open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.

Prayer rally planned in Sunbury

Saint John Neumann Parish is hosting a Pray for America Public Square Rally Saturday, Oct. 15 at noon at the town square in Sunbury.

More than 16,000 prayer rallies are scheduled across the country, on this day, a news release states.

“Let us proclaim to the world, that We Are One Nation Under God, Indivisible, With Liberty and Justice for All. If we stand strong together as Americans, we can change our country by the power of prayer. Our country needs your support during this critical time in history,” it said.

Rep. Pat Tiberi will speak.

ODOT work to start this weekend

The Ohio Department of Transportation will start the following work this weekend. On Sunday, U.S. Route 36 will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Davidson Lane and 3 B’s and K Road from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly for pavement resurfacing. Completion is expected to be Oct. 15.

On Monday, state Route 3 will be reduced to one lane of traffic between Highland Lakes and Freeman Road from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for culvert replacement. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Completion is expected to be Oct. 11. On the same day, U.S. Route 23 will be reduced to one lane in each direction between state Route 315 and Hawthorn Boulevard from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for road work.
