Galena plans Beggar’s Night

The Village of Galena’s Beggar’s Night will be Monday, Oct. 31, from 6 to 7:15 p.m. The village’s annual Halloween Costume Contest will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Galena Village Hall, 109 Harrison St.

Village Hall doors will open at 7:20 p.m. for this event. Judges will choose costume winners in age categories and a group category. Hot cider and doughnuts will be served and all participants will receive prizes.

Gemini extension opens tonight

The Gemini extension opens between Orion Place and East Powell Road Thursday night after the evening rush. At the same time, Worthington Road will close between Polaris Parkway and East Powell Road for the final phase of construction. Worthington Road is expected to be closed for two months.

The detour will be Polaris to Orion to Gemini or reverse. Drivers coming from I-71 north headed to Worthington Road will have two options: Exit at Polaris, turn left onto Orion and right onto Gemini or exit at Gemini and turn right to get to Worthington Road.

Grady Memorial plans blood drive

The blood drive conducted by The American Red Cross will be at Grady Memorial Hospital on Friday, Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Medical Office Building.
